Aims: The needs can be matched with the services by scientifically identifying and classifying them. The aim of this study was to identify and rank the needs of veterans under 25% in Khorasan Razavi province, Iran.
Materials and Methods: This research is a quantitative-qualitative one carried out among all veterans under 25% in Khorasan Razavi province, Iran in 2016 . In the qualitative section, in-depth interviews were conducted with semi-structured interviews among 30 veterans. The participants were purposefully selected, using snowball technique. The interviews were, then, turned into the textual data and analyzed, using an analytical (thematic) manner. Finally, a research tool (questionnaire) was developed. The data were collected through a questionnaire with a personal interview with 185 veterans (entered in the study by available sampling method). Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis.
Findings: Totally, 63.2% of the veterans interpreted their veteran rate unfair. The financial expectations (66.8%) were the first priority and expectations related to physical and mental problems (30.4%) were the second priority. Also, expectations related to revision in rating based on percentage (26.6%), expectations related to reverence by the foundation (22.8%), and elimination of discrimination between veterans under 25% and more (21.7%) were the priorities ranked third to fifth.
Conclusion: Financial expectations, expectations related to physical and mental problems, expectations related to revision in rating based on percentage, expectations related to reverence by the foundation, and elimination of discrimination between veterans under 25% and more are the first to fifth priorities of veterans under 25% in Khorasan Razavi province, Iran.
