Effect of Human Resource Management Practices on Organizational Performance Improvement with the Mediating Role of intellectual Capital; Case Study of Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of Semnan and Khorasan Razavi Provinces

Aims: Various studies have shown that good human resource management describes a high degree of intellectual capital and high degree of intellectual capital increases organizational performance. The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between human resource management and organizational performance through the mediating role of intellectual capital.
Instruments & Methods: This descriptive-correlational survey research was conducted in 2017 among 384 of the staff of Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of Semnan and Khorasan Razavi provinces, who were selected based on stratified random sampling. This research in purpose is a functional and descriptive study. A questionnaire of human resources management procedures and intellectual capital and organizational performance questionnaire were used to collect the data. The data were analyzed by SPSS 16 software, using Pearson correlation coefficient, linear regression, structural equation modeling, and factor analysis.
Findings: There was a significant correlation between the mean scores of components of human resource management, organizational performance, and intellectual capital (p<0.01). The human resources management tasks could express 63.20% of the organizational performance according to the mediating role of intellectual capital. The values of all indicators of fitting goodness indicated the optimal fit of the model. 77% of intellectual capital changes were expressed by human resource management activities (t=21.15; R2=0.77). Also, intellectual capital could predict 83% of organizational performance changes (t=19.67; R2=0.83,). Therefore, the predictive power of organizational performance by human resource management with mediating role of intellectual capital was 64%.
Conclusion: Human resource management through the mediating role of intellectual capital influences organizational performance.
